Lake Tekapo has almost the same colour of Pukaki's one, it's due to "rock flour" in the water. This sediment gives the water a milky quality an refracts the sunlight beaming down, hence a brillant colour.
We had just few days left to drop off the car at Christchurch, and we decided from Mt Cook to Christchurch to do Lewis pass, Arthur pass and then Kaikoura.
We stopped at Casttle hills, to see these limestones just standing here. Some people were over there to climb rocks without rope.
